In response to Matt Ricketts' question about the Sharp-tailed Sparrow, we
were at Arrowhead both Saturday and Sunday at high tide, where the Nelson's
Sharp-tailed Sparrow was well seen by about 25 members of the Albany Adult
School class each day. Also seen were a number of Clapper Rails and Sora.
Surprising for us, a few Ring-necked Ducks sailed across the salt water (we
usually see them in fresh water) and a Barn Swallow shot by overhead. Other
birds included Peregrine Falcon and two Ospreys. On Saturday, Rusty Scalf
had a pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes in addition to most of the above.
