>From my notes of the Sunday, September 21, 2003, GGAS
bicycle birding trip from the San Leandro Marina to
the Hayward Shoreline: As we started at 9:15 we saw a
number of feral cats near the bridge and noted that
one had a dead parakeet. These cats are being fed by
some misled do-gooder, a phenomenon I have also noted
at Lake Temescal.
directions:
>From 880 in San Leandro, take the Marina Blvd. exit
west 1.4 mi. and turn left onto Monarch Bay Dr. This
road ends in 1 mile at the park. bridge south to SF
Bay Trail is where the bird was seen. kathy
