A ROSS'S GOOSE has been hanging out at Lake Merritt (downtown Oakland) with
the molting Canada Geese. I first noticed it yesterday swimming with a group
of about 20 CAGOs east of the duck feeding area near Bellevue Ave. Later,
the Ross's followed the group over to the fenced-off duck feeding area
between the Rotary Nature Center and the geodesic dome bird cage. This
morning, the Ross's was with a large flock of CAGOs grazing on the lawn next
to Bellevue Ave, next to the little red implement shed at the bend in the
pedestrian path.
