About 18 GGA members joined a field trip at West Winton today. Notable were
the Willow Flycatcher previously reported by Bob Richmond (in the anise
along the trail to the shoreline, about 1-2' above the ground most of the
time), Yellow, Orange-crowned and Yellow-rumped Warblers in the same area,
and about 10 Red Knots along the edge of the bay near Frank's Dump. There
were thousands of Western Sandpipers, and hundreds of godwits, Willits,
Black-bellied Plovers, American Avocets, Sanderlings, along with a few
Semi-palmated Plovers, Black-necked Stilts, curlew, etc.
