[EBB Sightings] screech owls

Came home last night to see one screech owl swoop over my car at the 
bottom of the driveway into a California Bay just above me.

As I watched, a second screech owl landed in the Redwood tree on the 
opposite side of the drive, then peered out at its partner from one of 
the outer branches, its face reflected in my headlights.

It would seem that they are in the process of setting up housekeeping in 
those tall trees. They make clicking sounds mostly, with an occasional 
screech. What could be more satisfying than being inside on a stormy 
winter night, with the wind whipping the treetops about, knowing that 
the owls are nesting?
