Birders:
While we did not see the Snowy Owl on Sunday, we did have several =
other good birds of note:
Mountain Plovers - a large group exactly 1.4 miles up =
Flannery Rd, East of Rt 113 not too far out in the field
Ferruginous Hawk - perched on a telephone pole on Robinson =
Rd
Merlin - perched on Liberty Island Road mid afternoon
Burrowing Owls -- 2-3 on the East side of Liberty Island =
Rd, just South of Swan Rd which Jean Richmond found.
They were close to the road perched next to =
some white PVC pipes.
Cattle Egrets - A group of six on the East side of Liberty =
Island Rd in with some sheep, S of Midway Rd.
Oven Bird - At the usual spot adjacent to the Mace Rd Bridge over =
Putah Creek in Davis. After a very brief look around 3:30 p.m., it came =
out in full view about 4:15 or so for a few minutes.
